Reality

I wrote this for a friend of mine when she posted something on facebook saying she needed a reality check.


Just how do you plan to check it
Reality, what’s it to you
The things you can touch
The things that you hear
The things that come into view
But you and I live different places
You and I lead different lives
So what’s real to you
To me just isn’t true
And there-in reality lies
Don’t worry – don’t bother to check it
Just sit back – enjoy the ride
You’ve youth and good health
And an good sense of self
Let reality simply subside
